Impressed by several MUN conferences, a group of students from SZ Walle felt the desire to do something alike. Conducted by the feeling, that many talented students would only waste an opportunity like a MUN because they were held exclusively at reputable schools, they decided that the best way to confront their classmates with MUN was to arrange a MUN at their school.

WalMUN was born.

SZ Walle provides as one of five schools in Bremen the opportunity to attend the bilingual profile. Thus, an English-speaking event like WalMUN perfectly fits into the school's profile.  An education center like SZ Walle accommodates many multicultural students with different views and opinions, just like the buildings of the UN accommodate various different delegates from different nations. The parallels are striking: Despite their disagreements and disputes they are united in one building and in the goals the students are striving for: passing their finals and securing world peace.

WalMUN provides the unique possibility to discuss globally relevant matters in two committees and the General Assembly in English. This year's committees are GA1 "Establishing criteria against the sale and trade of lethal weapons" and GA6 "Prohibition of the circulation of drugs and narcotics in Central and Latin America". Students from grade 9 -13 will attend WalMUN, united in their aim to experience a successful MUN conference 2012!
